Reverse Lookup On Phone Numbers

Here’s a pointer for all you ladies out there because it’s a great example of how the reverse lookup service can work “for you”. We all know that most women, when they get married, change their surname. After a couple of years searching for these individuals has become exceedingly difficult because very few learn their “new” surname. There was a couple that were seeking some friends and had to keep searching for nearly two months until, finally Facebook helped them out. Fortunately the person they were looking for decided to throw in her maiden name and made it possible for them to find her. This is a good tactic if you have some old friend that wish to find, or wish to be found by them. Unfortunately not everyone you know or you’ve ever known has a Facebook, Twitter or hi5 account.

All in all it doesn’t actually matter whether you’re a guy or a girl. Nor does it matter if you’re searching for friends, classmates, or coworkers, using a reverse telephone directory can be of great help. I had to try out this service a little while ago and I wanted to share some of my impressions regarding it.
When I entered the website, it resembled the Google search engine. The only difference is that you were searching for numbers instead of words. The first test should always be with your own phone number or another you know, just to see the results. After a few second of compilation, it shows your number, the city the number is located in, and a smaller box with a full report.

This kind of service is as good as it gets when you’re trying to get a general location. But it will not give you all the details. Those are contained in the full report that comes with the “interrogation”.
Google Reverse Phone Lookup

It’s true that Google offered its visitors a reverse phone lookup service for quite a while, but in 2011 this service was removed from the impressive package of services that Google offers on the market and most of them for free. Although the reverse phone lookup service is one of the first services that Google decided to implement, at the beginning of 2011 the service was removed without any official notice. This service used to be related to an operator known as rphonebook, but this sister service is apparently also gone. So, Google is no longer offering its users the possibility to find out all sorts of details about the user of a residential phone number that’s listed.

You might ask yourself what are the reasons behind this decision. Apparently there are two main reasons. One reason is related to the many people that didn’t want their phone numbers to be listed in Google’s reverse phone directory and kept hassling Google’s officials while the other reasons is related to the fact the less and less people were using the service. Therefore, to some extent the service was slowly becoming completely useless. Considering these two reasons, many believe that Google took the right decision by abolishing the Google reverse phone lookup service.

There are also people who feel that Google’s service wasn’t very reliable, because in most of the cases it didn’t return any results for the phone number entered. Maybe that’s why the service wasn’t that popular in the first place. However, even if there isn’t anymore a special reverse phone lookup service powered by Google, you can still try to enter the phone number of your interest between quotes in the search box of this important search engine. You can never know. Maybe there is somewhere a record of the phone number and you will be able to find out some details for free. If not there are plenty of other services you can use, especially if you are willing to pay an insignificant fee. Just make sure you find a reliable source.

In most cases the easiest way to acquire a phone number is to find it in the local telephone book or to simply call information. Some of you might also have a CD and make the search electronically. Of course those are not the only ways to do it. There are other free online telephone directories that can provide some aid for your search. I for one, got great results from SwitchBoard.com. You can also try Infobel, Superpages, Argali or The Ultimates. Finally, if you don’t get lucky you can try Google.
If you don’t get lucky with those, you can also go for some free lookup services Accurit, Merlin Intelius or LocatePLUS are only a few of the services registered for look up.

If the number you’re trying to find belongs to a cell phone things get a bit trickier, because basically a cell phone should be private. Still, there are some services such as Intelius or Accurint, that provide the lookup services required when dealing with cell phone numbers. The FreeCellPhoneTracer.com even guarantees your money back in case you fail to obtain the number from their database.
Other directories are designed to search for foreign telephone numbers. Infobel.com is a great service for European services. Another website with the same focus is Europages.com. If still no luck that you can head for the AT&T International Directory Assistance. You can find an operator by calling at 412 555 1515. If you’re searching for Canadian numbers, than Accurint and Lexis are your best friends.

A call from someone you know, a friend or a relative is the basis of essential daily communication. The lack of communication, or without some means of communication you can miss day by day activities or important events that could actually change your life. It can relate to everything starting from a loved one calling you and ending with a job promotion. On the other hand if you keep receiving calls from someone you do not know, you start worrying about the identity of that person, what business does it have with you and how does he/she know your number. This can be the beginning of a stressful situation.

Imagine how hard it would be to get in touch with someone over a large distance if there is no cell phone. Each business transaction would be constricted in an office with a landline. How difficult would that be? Cell phones are currently the pinnacle of communication. Know that 19 out of 20 people carry a cell phone in their pockets.
In a busy day, especially if you’re the type of person that interacts with more and more people, it’s really easy to get overwhelmed and loose some of the contact numbers. If you get a call from an unknown number it’s not such a big deal. But when you get a disturbing call with threats involved or other things, you will definitely want to find out what was it about.

For that purpose, the reverse phone lookup services were invented. They have large databases that provide access to certain users to their public database and allow them to find the numbers. This can be really fast and really effective since you can find the person whom the number belongs to in a matter of minutes.
Reverse Phone Directory Uk

The main definition of a reverse phone directory says that it is a collection of phone numbers and associated customer details. Unlike the standard phone directory (the user needs to know customer’s details in order to retrieve the phone number of a specific person), a reverse phone directory provides any user the possibility to search by a phone number in order to “retrieve” the customer information associated with that number.

Law enforcement and other emergency services are the main users of reverse phone directories, because they need to determine the origin of the request for assistance. It’s definitely good to know that these systems include both privately and publicly accessible services and are restricted to internal use only. This is a rule valid in the United States as well as in the United Kingdom. So, if you are the victim of many prank calls, you should know that there is a UK reverse phone directory that you can use.
The only problem in the UK is that the websites that have the right to access this reverse phone directory and reveal the information to third parties, aren’t many and don’t provide the service for free. That’s because the price that needs to be paid for the data is quite high. An option that offers a sort of a compromise is White Pages UK.

Another option is a website you can visit here. With the help of this website you will be able to access an impressive database that includes around 7 million of mobile phone numbers and 12 million of landline numbers. The fee involved by using this website’s services is not that high either. It’s of only £4.99. If you’re willing or not to pay this fee, that depends entirely on how vital is the information for you. However, sometimes the joy of reuniting with an old friend might be worth the trouble.
